| Set on a lush Lake Austin peninsula, this 1915 Mediterranean-style villa was once home to Clara Driscoll Sevier, the savior of the Alamo. In this lovely but relatively diminutive setting, the museum showcases its expanding collection of 20th-century American paintings, sculpture, and photographs and hosts outside exhibits and family-focused art programs. An art school shares the idyllic setting of this building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. www.amoa.org. | |
